Let me get one thing straight: I hate Green Day.
#1. They named their album Dookie, because they got diarrhea a lot. Classy, guys.
#2. They act like they are counterculture punk rockers, but they are just corporate-sponsored tools like any other popular band.
#3. They then turned themselves into self-righteous, “listen to me because I’m famous” crapbags to sell records with American Idiot and “Boulevard of Broken Dreams”. Then they filmed their accompanying live DVD in Europe. Way to take a stand, guys.
#4. Dudes don’t wear eyeliner. They just don’t. Don’t care who you are.
Anyway, for some reason I find myself singing “When I Come Around” today while I’m working, so I felt it was appropriate to include it in our homage to the ’90s.
In the aforementioned grossly-titled 1994 album, “When I Come Around” was their hottest radio hit. It topped the Rock charts and cracked the Top 10 in the Billboard Hot 100. Anyway, here it is. Now I’m going to go dream of punching Billy Joe Armstrong in the face repeatedly. What a tool.
